A Magical Place

 I love the beach. It is like an escape from the crazy whirlwind called "life". The beach is a place where I can step back and think about where I am going in life. 

I enjoy sitting in the sand, and watching the waves crash on the top of each other. I use my hands to make cool designs in the sand. I pick up a handful of sand and let it fall from my fingers, there are soooooo many tiny little grains. I can't even imagine how many grains of sand there are in just a small patch of the beach. I like to think about where the sand came from, how did it form? Where is it going to go? Wouldn't it be so cool if you could track a grain of sand for hundreds of years to see the places that it has been? Well anyways these are the things I ponder while sitting on the beach :)

On Monday mom had the day off work and she wanted to hang out with me and destiny. She called the school and told them we had an out of town appointment (the beach!). We took our friend Greg with us. We went to Pacific City beach then to two different Lincoln City beaches. It was a fun day, we walked around, climbed the sand dune in Pacific City and made a fire. It was the best Monday I've ever had!

       Yes it is true. I am indeed a senior. It is crazy to think that I am almost done with high school, and at first I was sad that this is my senior year. Today the school year is one-quarter done, that means I only have 3/4ths left of my senior year. Time is going by so fast, I'm afraid if I look back time will pass without me even looking. School really sucks sometimes, and by school I mean it's the people at school that make it suck. Some days when I am sitting in class and the things I overhear are driving me mad, I remember that it's my last year and that this is why I won't miss school... AT ALL!!
        I will miss how comfortable my life is right now though, all my necessities are taken care of and I don't have to worry about getting bills paid. I mean I have a job and a car, but those things have been easy. The only problem is I don't really have a plan in place for what I am going to do with myself after highschool. That is what worries me most, I want to make a plan but at the same time I have this sinking feeling like whats the point because I am sure my plan won't work out. So I am kinda stuck. Luckily I have a couple of months to just think and pray about this.

So anyways, people always have a hard time believing that I am a senior, usually the conversation goes something like this...

Other person: So what grade are you in?

Me: I am a senior.

Other person: Really?!! you don't really look like a senior...

Me: Yeah people tell me that all the time! I know I don't look like a senior, but I really am a senior

Other Person: Yeah you don't, but at least when you are older you will still look young.

Me: Yes that is my plan :)

My name is Destiny and I am a textaholic...

I have come to the sad realization that I am a textaholic. It is hard for me to admit to this, but I know that it is true. My phone has been there with me, way to much apparently. I realized that at nearly every social and family event I have attended in the past two years I was probably texting. It would be embarrassing to watch a replay of all the times I was just sitting around, texting. Like seriously it makes me want to throw my phone out the window in anger! At the same time it is an important communication device, but I am sure that I could live without it. This is actually similar to the way I felt about facebook. Except I use my phone for important things. lol

So to change this anti-social habit of texting, I have decided that when I am hanging out with friends or family I should leave my phone in my purse on silent. Yes I know it will be hard, but it's for the best right?

Birthday Party

Last Tuesday my Mom and I went to a birthday party for Aaron and Diego. We had some delicious food!! It was so good!! The kids were being so cute, as usual.


I can't believe Aaron is 9, and Diego is 4. Life is going by so fast! ; ( I mean seriously, my ninth birthday seems like it was so long ago!! I actually can't even remember my ninth birthday actually... Reality is starting to settle in, in less than 4 months I will be turning 18 years old!!! Oh my gosh what am I doing typing on this computer, I should be out having fun!! I told myself that I would have a lot of fun this year, and I have had fun, but not enough... Goodness!! I need to go think of what I am going to do about this... Anyways so I have included some pictures that I got :)

My Moms birthday was October 3. 

She is a very awesome lady (for those of you who don't know). Not only did she give me life, she also has put up with me for 17 and 1/2 years  : ) Not to mention Rainey and Justus. HA HA.

Soooooo last sunday our family went to Red Lobster to celebrate my Mom's birthday. It was pretty fun, and my mom took a couple of pictures on her phone :)

The Oxymorons

Almost a year ago at my church I decided to join my church drama team. Every Saturday we do skits @ the macstage. It does not seem like a year ago i started. This is my all time favorite ministry. Heres some pics from the past year.

On Friday night we had all the Gashes, Perez's, Ovalle's, and the Landis' over for a party. We had fried chicken and potato salad. Unfortunately I was having such a great time socializing that I didn't get very many pictures :P So the bottom ones are some that I took. Anyways we had fun just hanging out with the fam. Next time I think I will try to get more pictures of every one. lol

Cousins at the Park

Dear Blog,

     I was looking forward to seeing my cousins for a long time!! This whole week I was anxiously waiting for them to arrive. Bianca spent the night at our house on Thursday, and Friday afternoon we went and hung out with my cousins at our Grandma Gash's house. Rainey Bianca and I took Juan, Annabell, Chloe, Isaiah, and lily to the park. (later Caleb came) It was quite warm outside, so the kids got nice and sweaty running around on the park as I am sure you could imagine. 

So here are some pictures of how I braided Bianca's hair :)

I am not so thrilled that Rainey took a picture of my backside, but it is like the only picture of me walking with the kids so I had to show it to you ;P
